If you’re like most people, you probably use Facebook and Instagram to keep in touch with friends and family. But if you want to stop using them, there’s a few steps you can take to do so. First, open Facebook or Instagram and sign in. Then, go to the “Settings” tab and select “Privacy.” Under “Data Collection,” select “Do not collect data from this site.” Next, open the app for your phone and uninstall both apps. This will stop Facebook from collecting data about your activities on the app and Instagram from collecting data about your activities on the app. If you’re using Facebook for work or school, make sure to set up a privacy policy for your account that covers how your information will be used. For example, if you use Facebook for work purposes only, set up a policy that requires employees to sign in before they can access their account or view their posts.

When you disconnect your accounts from each other, your accounts do not get modified or deleted. You simply lose the ability to post from one platform to the other and stop getting other shared experiences. Later, if you want, you can always resync your accounts.
