Twitter is a great way to stay in touch with friends and family, but it can also be used to spread theobnoxious top stories today. Here are some tips to help you stop the spammy tweets:

  1. Make sure your Twitter account is updated regularly. This will help to prevent spammy tweets from being sent out.
  2. Use filters to help you identify spammy tweets. For example, if you are a journalist, you can use filters to identify articles that are promotional or contain false information.
  3. Report any spammy tweets to Twitter support. This will help them to investigate the tweet and remove it from the account as soon as possible.

If you aren’t familiar, here’s the obnoxious social network spamming feature from Paper.li, who have some sort of service that’s a combination of a personal Twitter newspaper and a spam-generating machine.

For the Love of FSM, Make It Stop!

According to their stop mentions page, all you have to do is tweet out a response to @NewsCrier like this:

You can just to to the page, click the Tweet button..

And then you’ll be able to quickly make it stop.

One has to assume this will actually make it stop, but who knows if somehow they will add a new feature in the future to spam you.

Dear Paper.li Owners

Please make your service less annoying. Constantly getting spammed is frustrating, and it’s not a solid way to build a useful service.
