If you’re one of the many PS5 owners who have been frustrated by the way your DualShock controller’s mic picks up background noise, there is a quick and easy solution. To mute your controller’s mic, all you need to do is go to the Settings menu on your PS5 and select Audio & Video. From here, you will see the option to Mute Controller Mic. Simply toggle this option on and off as needed to get rid of any unwanted noise. ..
You can mute the mic and PS5’s audio using a DualSense controller at any time. However, you have to consciously think to do that, or let members on the multiplayer games tell you. And the latter rarely happens.
The DualSense controller’s built-in microphone turns on whenever you boot your PlayStation 5. But you can set it to mute and turn on the microphone only when required.
